Courtney Recognized for SANDABS Service

The San Bernardino County District Advocates for Better Schools (SANDABS) on February 3 recognized Lucerne Valley Unified School District board of trustees president Tom Courtney for four years of service to the SANDABS Executive Committee.

Courtney, who has been an elected member of the Lucerne Valley USD board for more than a quarter century, currently serves on the committee with nearly 20 others from San Bernardino County school districts and organizations. Karen Gray and Cali Binks co-chair the SANDABS committee which also includes County Superintendent of Schools Ted Alejandre and High Desert representatives Amy Nguyen-Hernandez of Adelanto Elementary, David Olney of Hesperia Unified, Wilson So of Apple Valley Unified and Ron Williams of Victor Valley Union High.

The committee works on legislative issues to provide better schools. Districts large and small benefit from SANDABS membership through legislative advocacy services.
