Biology/Anatomy teacher Abigail Jimenez (Certified) and student records clerk Rosie Lechuga (Classified) were named the Lucerne Valley USD’s Employees for the Month for May at Thursday’s monthly meeting of the district’s Board of Trustees.
Superintendent Peter Livingston presented the awards to Mrs. Jimenez, who was on a school assignment at the time of the meeting, and Mrs. Lechuga and shared words from the school administrators who nominated them.
Certificated - Abigail Jimenez
“As a dedicated biology and anatomy teacher, Mrs. Jimenez consistently creates an interactive and engaging classroom environment that inspires her students,” according to the administrators. “She has built strong, meaningful relationships with her students, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere. Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Jimenez serves as a senior advisor and actively supports multiple clubs on campus, always going the extra mile to contribute to our school community. Her passion, dedication, and teamwork make her an invaluable asset to our team.”
Classified - Rosie Lechuga
“Rosie began her journey with us as a bilingual instructional aide and afterschool program team member, and for the past year, she has served as our dedicated student records clerk. In every role, Rosie has been an invaluable asset — supporting staff and families by translating during parent meetings and always stepping in wherever help is needed. Her warm smile is one of the first things that greets you in the front office, reflecting the kindness and care she shows our students every day. We are grateful for her hard work, positivity and tireless commitment to our school community.”
After receiving her award, Rosie shared some words about how when you love what you do work no longer feels like work. And, she said, she loves working at Lucerne Valley Elementary School.
