Lucerne Valley Middle/High School math teacher and athletic director Brandon Barkley and district maintenance team member Eddie Carter were recognized as Employees of the Month at Thursday’s Board of Trustees meeting.
Superintendent Peter Livingston presented the awards and board members congratulated the honorees.

“We’re thrilled to recognize Brandon Barkley, our exceptional Athletic Director and outstanding math teacher, as August’s Certificated Employee of the Month,” Mr. Livingston said. “Throughout the summer, Brandon has tirelessly managed schedule changes for all sports, led basketball team practices, and driven our Elite Summer Program to success. Beyond his dedication, Brandon's unwavering support for colleagues and students alike makes him a true asset. We're incredibly fortunate to have his leadership and positivity at our school. This summer, Eddie’s hard work and dedication “were instrumental in completing major improvements across our district.” He played a key role in enhancing the High School Media Center, ensuring the space is welcoming and functional for students and staff. Additionally, he contributed extensively to the District Office’s new office expansion, bringing both craftsmanship and efficiency to the project.
