New president of the Lucerne Valley USD Board of Trustees
The Lucerne Valley USD’s Board of Trustees elected Jason Hansen as its president during the annual board reorganization on December 11. Hansen takes over from Chelsea LaGrange, who served as president for two years.
Hansen was appointed to the board on July 6, 2021 after he was appointed to serve on the school board following the retirement of Ruben Medina earlier that year.
School board member Jim Harvey, who previously served several terms as president, nominated Hansen to the board’s top position. He also praised LaGrange for her service.
“I want to commend Chelsea for being a fantastic board member the last two years,” Harvey said. “We have amazing board members.”
Hansen is executive director at Humanitarian Emergency Lifeline Project.
Jessica Risler was chosen as vice-president, Tom Courtney, who has served on the board for 31 years, was selected as board clerk, and Harvey and LaGrange round out the five-member board in non-officer positions.
