Agricultural Science teacher/FFA adviser Connor Wiedeman (certificated) and campus aide José Segovia (classified) were recognized as the March Employees of the Month during the monthly meeting of the Lucerne Valley USD’s Board of Trustees on Thursday, March 12th.
The awards were presented by Superintendent Peter Livingston, and the school board congratulated the honorees.
Connor Wiedeman - Certificated
“We are proud to recognize Connor Wiedeman our Agricultural Science teacher as the Certificated Employee of the Month,” Mr. Livingston said, sharing comments from Mr. Wiedeman’s nominators for the award. “Through his dedication to both the classroom and our FFA program, he consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that students receive the most meaningful and enriching experiences possible.
“In addition to delivering engaging and hands-on instruction in Agricultural Sciences, he plays a vital role in supporting and strengthening our FFA program. His commitment to student success extends far beyond the classroom, as he works tirelessly to create opportunities for students to grow academically, professionally, and personally.
“Throughout the year, Connor has repeatedly stepped up when new responsibilities were placed on his shoulders. Each time, he has met those challenges with professionalism, positivity, and a willingness to do whatever is needed to support students and the school community.
“Connor has built strong relationships with colleagues and maintains a positive and collaborative presence among staff. His rapport with parents and students alike reflects the care and pride he takes in his work. In the classroom, he manages an engaging and well-structured learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to succeed. We are truly fortunate to have him as part of our team.”
Jose Segovia - Classified
“We are proud to recognize Jose Segovia as our Employee of the Month,” Mr. Livingston said. “Jose is the definition of someone who comes to campus ready to work. He is strictly business when it comes to keeping our school running smoothly and consistently goes above and beyond what is asked of him. Jose is always looking for ways to improve our campus, whether it’s sweeping dirt off the concrete, addressing small issues before they become bigger problems, or keeping a watchful eye out for safety concerns to ensure our students have a clean and safe environment.
“In addition to his strong work ethic, Jose brings kindness and positivity to our school community. He is attentive and respectful to everyone he interacts with, and our students absolutely love him. Jose takes the time to greet students and always treats them with patience and care. Even when admin joked about him having to give a speech tonight, Jose responded with "how long,” which is a testament to his character. His dedication, reliability, and genuine kindness make a meaningful impact on our campus each day. We are incredibly fortunate to have Jose as part of our team. Thank you, Jose, for everything you do for our school.”
