Health Services

Lucerne Valley Unified School District's Health Services Department promotes student health. We help facilitate optimal development, and strive for advances in academic success. By communicating with parents, school personnel, physicians and other health providers we will optimize student health, and advocate for student safety.

Each school site is capable of providing basic first aid, assistance with student medication administration, and basic education to students and staff.

 Vision, Hearing & Scoliosis Screenings

These are required at specific intervals and grade levels in California. Schools must conduct vision and hearing screenings on all students upon school entry and every third year thereafter through grade ten. For example, vision and hearing testing may be done in kindergarten and in grades two, five, eight and ten as well as any students with an IEP or referred at any grade level.  Scoliosis screenings are done for girls in seventh grade and boys in eighth grade.
